Burnham Beeches Sensory Trail

26 October 2024

This 1 km trail follows our Easy Access Path, which was created to provide a surfaced route through the nature reserve with minimal slopes, for anyone less steady on their feet, or in a wheel chair.

Eight carved oak sculptures, celebrating the decaying wood habitat that helps make this ancient woodland so important for wildlife, are waiting to be discovered.

Get hands-on and explore the wonderful textures carved in the wood by artist Nick Garnett.  Each sculpture is accompanied by a small sign with a QR code. Use this to discover each species, its name and fascinating details about it.

Use the benches along the route to relax, breathe in, and soak up the sounds and smells of the woodland.
